Personalized Education Program

At The McClelland School, we believe in the promise in every child.  We believe in developing all aspects of our students: cognitive, social/emotional, physical growth & wellness, and ethical leadership & character growth.  To that end, we have developed our Personalized Education Program that puts students at the center of of their learning.  We achieve this through building a learning profile of each child, ensuring that every child participates in Spanish, music, art and Health & Wellness, through formal collaborative conferences, comment based report cards, and through our Standard and Accelerated academic options. The uniqueness of this program is centered around the uniqueness of your child.

Collaborative Conferences

At The McClelland School, we believe in collaboration with students, parents, teachers and administration.  Twice a year, we schedule formal 30 minute conferences with you, and your child’s academic team.  This consists of your child’s advisor or teacher, the core teachers, and often the Head of School. We also encourage attendance by the student as well, so we can get valuable feedback from the children on how they see themselves as students.

Standard & Accelerated

Although there are many factors that contribute to a child’s ability to achieve in school, for decades the placement of the student has been based around their chronological age rather than their developmental readiness.
