A: Yes. Upon receipt of a completed application, students are invited to visit the school and spend half a day or a full day in the appropriate classroom. The visit includes participating in all academic and special classes. Applicants may also take some individualized assessment tests. The McClelland School makes every effort to make the day an enjoyable and interesting experience for the visiting student.
Q: What is the deadline for submitting an application?
A: All applications for new students are reviewed by the Admissions Committee on a rolling basis. Essentially, this means that applications are considered as they are received throughout the school year. However, we recommend that you submit your application as early as possible for any given school year since space might be limited or unavailable. Admission will be considered only after all
the above steps have been completed. Admissions decisions are solely at the discretion of The McClelland School Admissions Committee.
Q: Are any applicants given special consideration?
A: Yes. We give priority to siblings of current McClelland School students.
Q: Do you offer Open Houses?
A: Yes, The McClelland School Open House is held in early spring to provide applicants and their parents with an opportunity to meet faculty members, students, and school administrators and to hear about The McClelland School’s educational offerings. For detailed information on upcoming dates, please see our school calendar.
Q: Do you offer financial aid?
A: Yes. The McClelland School’s Financial Assistance Program provides support to families with students in Kindergarten through 8th grade who demonstrate a financial need, which is the difference between a family’s financial resources and McClelland’s tuition fee. While it is expected that families will contribute some amount towards the cost of tuition, the program provides varying levels of grants to families who demonstrate need. For details, please refer to our financial assistance information.
