The Middle School currently includes grades five through eight. English, history, science, math Spanish, art, music and physical education are taught by teachers who are specialists in their area of study, giving students a solid academic foundation and the ability to apply skills in different areas of life. Students are also exposed to Latin throughout the middle school curriculum.
The four year program includes cooperative, creative, and exploratory projects, with unique components such as service learning opportunities, leadership building, scientific investigation, discovery of the arts, and outdoor education. An overnight trip at the beginning of the year encourages community building, problem solving, and knowledge of the outdoors.
We combine the interpersonal skills of teamwork and communication with the individual goals of accountability and critical thinking. With this foundation, our students leave McClelland with relevant knowledge and appreciation for the world around them, each student equipped with the tools necessary for success in high school and beyond.
