Please Help Support The McClelland School

The McClelland School seeks philanthropic contributions in support of our mission to celebrate every child by promoting character growth, a lifelong love of learning, and academic achievement in a creative and safe environment.

McClelland’s annual operating budget reflects the fact among most independent schools that the receipt of tuition dollars alone does not cover the cost of educating all students at our school.  The Annual Fund is how we can close that gap.  Contributions to the Annual Fund underwrite the cost of educating every child who attends.

AREAS OF SUPPORT- HOW YOU CAN HELP

The State of Colorado offers a Child Care Contribution Tax Credit that provides a special 50% income tax credit to taxpayers who donate to qualifying childcare programs. The McClelland School is a qualified childcare program that is eligible to participate. The effect of this credit is that half of your donation to The McClelland School is offset by a dollar-for-dollar reduction of your Colorado income taxes. Nearly $100,000 of The McClelland School’s budget is allocated to childcare expenses for Early Childhood, including but not limited to facilities and maintenance, teacher salaries, and programmatic resources. By designating your Annual Fund gift to Early Childhood you are still able to claim a full contribution on your federal and state income tax returns if you itemize your deductions.

If you would like your gift to The McClelland School Annual Fund to be designated for the tax credit, please write “Child Care Contribution” in the memo line of your check, or in the “Special Instructions” line on our online giving page.

Tax Credit Eligibility Rules

•  Donations cannot exceed $100,000 per taxpayer per year
•  Donations cannot exceed the tax liability for the tax year
•  The credit is scheduled to sunset in 2025
•  Availability subject to legislative action
•  Stock transfers and in-kind donations are not eligible

Annual Fund gifts designated to Early Childhood are eligible for a 50% tax credit. Please consult with you your tax professional to verify how this will impact your individual taxes.

Our personalized tuition rates for each family has opened our doors to many families who would not otherwise be able to send their child to McClelland.  Closing the gap between the cost to educate and the tuition rate remains the reality for all independent schools.

The emphasis on lifelong learning begins at the very youngest child we serve and extends through all levels with an emphasis on learning by doing, problem-solving, critical thinking, and cooperative learning projects.  Our exceptional teachers are distinguished by their love of academics and their commitment to the full development of each child in their classroom.

Our art, music, Spanish, and health and wellness curriculums are designed to address and support the multiple ways in which children learn and express themselves.

General upkeep of our beautiful, historic building is always a priority to provide a safe environment for our children to explore and learn both indoors and out.

This area covers basic operations such as insurance, utilities, administrative and operational costs associated with running a school.
